Christmas book is now finished (as of Thursday)

Yes, I have finished my book "The Christmas Village Book" and it is posted on Amazon. Now I'm at a loss as to which book I should write next. I have so many ideas. Here are my next seven (not in any particular order except the first three in the list)

  1. My book about Ram (the point of this blog)
  2. A non-fiction book on how to build an eight-foot waterfall by yourself (I did that - check out my tab On Waterfalls (I know there is nothing on the tab, but you can follow the link to my web page to see the picture of the eight-foot waterfall I built).
  3. My book about "how to loose at least three girlfriends by being too much of a gentleman: A cathartic tale" (somewhat autobiographical)
  4. A sequel to my Last Killer Standing book (already have slightly plotted at least 10 sequlals)
  5. A sequel to my Order of the White Feather: The sword of Dalamar book (already know where this one is going but it is not fully plotted out)
  6. A book similar to the National Treasure movies (I already have the idea for the plot, but I won't give it away here)
  7. A book about a psychic little girl (don't yet have much of a plot, but I do have a title thanks to Heather, my daughter and MUSE)
Honestly, I will probably work on the first three books in the list at the same time, so when I get stuck on one, I can write on one of the others for a break. Obviously, they are three totally different kinds of books.

I will try to post at least a short blog each day to let you know my progress and which book I was working on that day.

I will play poker this afternoon, of course and I will post the results tomorrow.

(Please post some kind of a comment to let me know someone out there is actually reading this or I will just stop doing it and work on the books instead).

Christmas book just about finished

Hello from Edward J. Coburn

Well, I'm just about finished with my Christmas book. I hope to be done today. It is not very long. It  should be less than 50 Word pages when done. I'm not sure how many Kindle pages it will be.

Today I have updated the following tabs:

1. On Gambling
2. On strokes and other problems

Now I lay me down to sleep

Hello from Edward J. Coburn

Now I lay me down to sleep
Into my room the monsters creep
If they should eat me before I wake
Please dear Lord, give them a bellyache.
Just something I came up with and thought was kind of cute. Gonna post it on YouTube.

About my Christmas book and other things

Hello from Edward J. Coburn
Just to let you know, the Christmas book is about what to do with those houses, people, and maybe animals for Christmas villages you may have recieved or gotten yourself. If you have them and want to do something a bit more fancy (like a diorama) with them this year, You may want to check out my book (lot's of pictures). It will be a kindle book.

For those of you without a Kindle, my other two books are now being offered in many other formats (including PDF) from a site called http://www.Smashwords.com. My books can be found at:

Last Killer Standing

and
Order of the  White Feather: The Sword of Dalamar

Today I updated my pages:
On Gambling (Played poker yesterday)
On Interesting Quotes

That's all for now. Still lots to do before I can start on my new book about Ram's Ramblings and now (believe it or not) I have started another book (probably gonna be a bit embarasing admiting some of this stuff) called "How to loose at least three girlfriends by being too much of a gentleman: A Cathartic tale".

It's been a While

Hello from Edward J. Coburn

Well, it's been two weeks since I have written anything, but I didn't really have anything to say. I have played poker the past two weekends and it didn't go too well though I ended up fourth both times. I have updated the quotes page with some more interesting quotes I have gathered.

I spent a lot of the last week repairing my Kenmore washing macine. I have had it for about 14 years and the pump started leaking. Well, rather than pay a repair person some exorbitant amount, I decided to do it myself. Unfortuanately, when I got the washer cover off, I discovered that the pump was rust-welded on the motor shaft. It was impossible to get off. Thus, I had to break the old pump apart with a chisel (and other tools) and work for several hours to get the remainder of the old pump off. It was a real treat. Then, after the pump was off, the motor shaft was too big for the new pump (which cost $60). I used sandpaper and a Dremel tool, but finally gave up and used a grinder. That did the trick and I finally got the new pump on and all attatched. Then, after putting the cover back on and hooking it all up, it new pump worked without any leaks. Glory be. I was amazed, but I probably saved a couple hundred dollars for the service call because I would have had to pay someone else for his labor time to get the old pump off. So, all it cost me a a lot of time and frustration.

What's interesting is the preachers sermon this Sunday was about perservence. I guess that about covers it. I persevered.

I am working hard on my Christmas non-fiction book. We'll see if that one sells.

Working on my non-fiction Christmas book

Hello from Edward J. Coburn

I had yesterday off for Veteran's day. Nice. I worked on my books.

Well, I am hard at work on my non-fiction book for Christmas. It's a how-to book and, as such, has lots of picutures. Unfortunately, Smashwords has a 5 megabyte limit on the size of the manuscript and mine is way beyond that. Thus, I am having to shrink my images so they are smaller in size and will allow a smaller manuscript. At least that's the hope. But, if I can't get it down small enough for Smashwords I will still publish it on Amazon. I am not going to give up.

More later, I hope to find the time.

A bit about writing and Work

Hello from Edward J. Coburn

Well, not much to say again today except that I had an okay week at work. I am currently doing corrections on 84 invoices that were converted incorrectly several years ago. Some of them take several hours each.

Onto writing. I have discover a web site that proports to be the largest publisher of  indie (independent) books called Smashwords so I republished both of my books
on Smashwords. The interesting thing is that you post to their site using a Word document and they have an engine that translates it to 9 different formats and it gets sent to 9 different web sites that sell books (such as Barns and Nobel).  You have to follow their rules (such as what fonts and styles to use) but if you're versed in word, they're not hard to follow. Wish me luck there.
