I find it interesting (and frustrating) that, according to a number of posts I have reead on the web that the YouTube counts basically don't work. I have also seen this myself. In all three of my videos, there is one count that show up when you search for the videos and a totally different count that shows up when you select the video for viewing. Take, Circle of Life (animated), for example. If you search for it, the count is 179 views, but once you look at the video itself, the count is 245 (not even close). Therefore, I wonder just how much the views can be trusted (I'd say not at all). It's frustrating to say the least.
The other thing I find frustrating, is that without a decent view count one's vidoes will not show up in a search, especially if their not brand new any more. You can have the new one show up on the top of the search list, though this techinue doesn't seem to work very well either. Of course, I am trying to use the videos to get some traffic on this blog and on my web site to, hopefully, sell some books.
